Visited in November 2018.
About 80km from Kuala Lumpur and took about 1.5 hours to reach, this restaurant isn’t by the river but it has fresh, tasty and affordable seafood dishes!
Ordered 9 dishes for 7 people and 7 coconuts cost us RM350.
What I ordered:
- Fried Mee Hoon Mantis Shrimp
- Gong Po Mantis Shrimp
- Fried Crispy Oh-Jien
- Seafood Porridge with Crab, Prawns and Fish
- Kam Heong La La
- Salted Egg Prawns
- Black Pepper Crab
- 3 Clam Gong Po with Bamboo clams, Scallop and La La clams
- Deep Fried Salt & Pepper Calamari Squid
Below are the dishes and some comments:
Fried Mee Hoon Mantis Shrimp
noodles were tasty! Mantis shrimp could have more flavour.
Gong Po Mantis Shrimp
so glad we got this! Great paired with the fried noodles! This dish had more flavour and was my favourite!
Fried Crispy Oh-Jien
my first time trying a crispy oh-jien, really interesting but I still prefer the usual slimy type. I couldn’t really taste the oyster but the batter was pretty good. The portion was big, but it was too deep fried to our liking, we could only finish half.
Seafood Porridge with Crab, Prawns and Fish
we ordered this because we saw Google Maps reviews raving about it. It was tasty but personally I would’ve preferred to just stick with the fried bee hoon. The porridge was light and soulful, it’s nice but I wouldn’t say it’s a must for me.
Kam Heong La La
fresh la la clams, I generally like Gong Po sauce with seafood and this was yummy!
Salted Egg Prawns
the shells were stuck to the prawn so it was tricky to eat. Not the thick salted egg type, it’s like a light coating of salted egg cream, flavour wasn’t very strong. Was alright.
Black Pepper Crab
very slightly spicy from black pepper and full of flavour, this dish was fresh and delicious!
3 Clam Gong Po with Bamboo clams, Scallop and La La clams
ordered this in addition after halfway through the above 7 dishes, either we were already pretty full or this dish wasn’t exactly impressive. Was alright.
Deep Fried Salt & Pepper Calamari Squid
was alright, could’ve done without.
Testing the Crispy Fried Oyster
The corner shop next to the restaurant was selling Heong Bang (Chinese caramel biscuits) and we got 3 bags full and they were fresh and amazing! I think these Heong Bang impressed me the most 😂
